I'm not sure whether I'm classing up fandom or just ruining poetry, but here is a collection of my Trek poetry, some of them actually read by the actors who portray the characters the poems were written for. Is there any character who deserves poetry that you don't see here? Tell me what you'd like to see.

"Hearts Like Houses"

The one that started it all... a look at Raffi in recovery and some of the realizations she has about choosing the people and relationships that are good for her.

"Milkweed Seeds"

A little meditation on Nhan's back story, how far she is from home and yet how she still manages to keep such a strong sense of self.

"A History of Flight"

It struck me that Lt. Detmer is the sort of person who would be very aware of the forgotten history of women in aviation and that in her moments of reflection, might be humbled by their contributions to her history.

"Mighty is the Man"

Saru is the sort of character who absolutely deserves formed poetry. I gave Doug Jones a sonnet that looks at Saru's arc in relation to fear, and he gave me a reading that basically treated it like Shakespeare.

"Truth and Tragedy"

for Elnor

It sometimes get forgotten how much tragedy Elnor carries. He often gets mistaken for naive because he's so completely open and honest. This takes a look at some of that tragedy and the grace with which he carries it.

"Favorite Color"

for Hugh

I often think about Hugh, and wonder what he went through when first discovering his individuality. This imagines him growing into himself, and thinking of Geordi, his first friend.

"If I Were a God"

for Q

Q, while not technically a god, might as well be one. We get a look at him strutting his stuff a bit here.

"Call Me Fenris"

for Seven of Nine

Seven of Nine's big narrative in S2 of Picard had to do with her seeing herself for the first time as not defined by the scary stories that 24th century world had spun about her. This explores some of her thoughts about that self-definition.

for Renee Picard

This is not the only poem inspired by the relatively minor character of Renee Picard. This one explores her struggles with perfectionism and her inability to fully address grief and loss.

"Let Me Show You the Math"

for the Borg Queen

The Borg Queen, I'll say it again, has an amazing come-on: "Babe, I see you for everything you are and love and accept all of it. I'm excited about what we could be together. Now let's go do some karaoke and break some stuff." I just had a little fun imagining her wooing Agnes with math.
